He is a past master in the domain of Customs Regulations, Indirect Taxes, Foreign Trade Policy and India business consulting. As indirect tax official with Central Government for two decades he is privy to unique legacy, wisdom and tax reform process in India. He has been involved in tax administration, execution, policy, intelligence, investigation, prosecution and litigation in critical issues having all India implications across manufacturing, international trading and service sectors. Thereafter, as Associate Director with BDO India, he advised niche international clients on complex tax and regulatory issues relating to setting up of business in India, import & export of goods and services, international transaction restructuring, due diligence, mergers & acquisitions, statutory compliance and litigation in the field of Central Excise, Customs, Service Tax, Foreign Trade Policy, etc. He is credited with conceptualising, developing and operationalising India’s first state-of-the-art Free Trade and Warehousing Zone in close co-ordination with Central Government machinery. He was then taken on board of Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Group, a mega infrastructure giant, as Leader to advise on businesses relating to Ultra Mega Power Projects, Airport, Metro Rail, National High Ways, Tele-communications, Defence, Mutual Fund, Insurance, Media and new ventures.
